Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my new garden blog! I'll be posting stories about the history and evolution of our little piece of earth, pictures of what's blooming now, photos from gardens we've visited, and other fun and interesting bits of garden-related stuff.

First, a little background. In 2004, we purchased a home in a Franklin, TN neighborhood. At less than a quarter of a acre, the lot was not large, but had the distinction of bordering the Harpeth River. Aside from the Bradford Pear trees and a forgotten Easter Lily in a pot, there was nary a bloomin' thing in the yard. Having grown up in a family that loves to garden, I quickly decided that just would not do. So began the research, sketches, and accumulation of plants that has become a yard that reflects our family's personality, and one we are eager to share with friends.
